Running a filled block on the street

    it has no obvious play or scoring so it could have been. Regardless. There was still metal flowing through the coolant passages.

    That TCC is junk i think. Water will cavatate around that and it'll be very inefficient.

    it’s got other issues as well. I’ll salvage the oil pump if possible and toss it

    Once you start filling the block in any amount unless you have an oil temp gauge to tell you exactly what the oil temp is doing the only thing you can be sure of is that the temperature of the oil is hotter than when it didn't have any fill. The water temperature actually may read lower because the oil is transferring less heat into the water jacket.
