I have a feeling i knwo the answer already but just wondering anyway. So, Does anyone make a roller cam for our beloved 350? Also what other choices do i have for roller rocks from venders other than TA Proformance, KB, and Postons? I gotta get the Skylark to keep up to the Grand National somehow :pp

    Thanks in advance

    Roller cam:
Call and talkdirectly to Mike T. at T/A performance... He already told me he could do it.

    Roller rockers:
Other than the three you listed, I'm not aware of anyone offering them.

I've got a roller cam I got with a bunch of parts I bought from someones failed 350 super stock motor. It's got one lobe with a groove in it from one of the rollers. But it is a steel billit so should be able to repair it. The only markings on it are Howard and 241-403. Someone spent a bunch of time and money on this motor. When I got this all I wanted was a set of roller rockers and a BHJ balancer this guy had, but after I saw all the rest of it I couldn't resist. 10 Venolia pistons, a couple sets of rods, a custom made single plane intake, the balancer, a set of heads that have a lot of trick stuff, two sets of rockers and a bunch of other parts. 350 heaven. :bglasses:

Wow, Ron you are one lucky guy!

Can you give us any details or pics of the intake?
It would be cool just to see that one. Now, if we could get our hands on some high perf aluminum heads, we'd be all set!!

    Any new news about those??

    LOL...

I was wondering when someone would ask about that.
We had a really good discussion on that very subject going over on the old board.

When the economy went sour last year, the project kinda fell by the side.

Mike T. has everything needed to make aluminum heads a reality... Except sufficent intrest.

That's not to say that there is'nt any "interest" in a set, but it's going to be an expensive undertaking for Mike, and he needs about 20 comitted buyers before he could do it.

He can do either high-port nascar style heads with all new intakes and headers, or a copy of stock, or somewhere inbetween.

He's all set to go, just needs 20 buyers... I figure when the economy bounces back, these will become a reality. But for now, it's just a dream.........

    dang you Darryl

See now you got my lil squirrel brain racing  how much do you think the Al heads would go for, but the roller cam is what i am really interested in, Ron that is a great score maybe the grove in the cam can be taken care of. Does anyone have an idea what a roller grind would be from TA i do like there stuff a lot and will be using the intake and headers with this rebuild. And a pick of that intake would be nice too, I have been toying with an idea of making my own for a fuel injection setup "as you can see i have way too much time on my hands" oh well back out to the garage :)

    Thanks again

Don't have a digtal camera so it may take a while may be able to use one from work. Man a set of aluminum heads would be nice! I know everyone says not to bore a Buick over .030, but has anyone bored one .060 over?

The aluminum head issue confuses me. If we knew how many 350" owners have purchased intakes from T/A over the years, then we could estimate how many heads would be sold. How about a conservative estimate of 10% ?
I'd imagine that T/A has sold hundreds of these intakes, and that's not including Poston. 10% of that would easily be 30 sets - likely much more.

If T/A is serious, they should advertise these heads at least on their web site. From those interested parties, an agreement could be arrived at as to how radical the heads should be. From there, deposits could be taken. When the number reaches 20, then work can begin.

Original Parts Group has had a lot of interest over their misprint in their catalog. Remember? It showed 350" bare aluminum heads for $995.00, supposedly from T/A. All it took to generate interest was a small ad in the catalog. That's pretty simple.
Adding an offering of these heads on T/A's web site would cost next to nothing.

This is an achievable goal. All it would take is some effort from us, and from Mike at T/A.
