I've heard that the NHRA legal installation has the line lock between the prop valve & front brakes, requiring a tee and some extra plumbing. I don't have a copy of the rule book handy. Devon
hello there Keith, Bill Locke was just asking about you!!! Looks like you be ready for BG next year for the reunion. Hows Charlie doing? fernando
This is correct. If you look at my first picture, the line comes out of the m/c to the line loc, then to a tee on the frame, then splits to both front wheels. It's suppose to be installed after the prop valve, not between the prop valve and m/c.
if you install it before the proportioning valve you risk tripping the safety portion of the valve and losing any fluid flow to the front brakes. the valve is supposed to sense a pressure differential and if it is to great it shuts off the lower pressure side to avoid total brake system failure.
Just keep in mind that the pre-71 cars only used a distribution block with a hold off valve if you had disc brakes. The dist block was nothing more than a splitter with a pressure switch and the roll control can be mounted in front of this. In 71 the proportioning valve showed up and the roll control should be mounted behind it.
It depends on how thorough that track is on that day...who knows? I'll tell you this for nothing, there's nothing worse than getting pumped for a race and being told to go sit down. Devon
Tim I don't have a proportioning valve on the 70 so I cut the line going to the front brakes and ran it to the line lock instead. I then ran the front side out of the master cylinder to the line lock and plugged the other holes on it. Don't mind the rust, the car's a toilet.
