OK I'm a long way from needing this information but this popped in my head.
If I'm going to put a cage in my street/strip car do you do it before or after cage is install? I see pros and cons to both before and after. I want carpet just to deaden sound but could paint the floor I guess.

You will want the carpet out to do the cage welding... you can clean up, prep and paint the floor ahead of time then just roll out the carpet and trim it to fit around the cage.

I need to buy new carpet for mine, it has split righ across behind the rubber pad on the drivers side and around the cage......where/who makes decent carpet at a fair price

Not sure Ben, I got carpet for my old 70 twenty years ago. Sean that makes sense. When I see the really sharp cars the carpet looks factory with the cage.

My plan when I redo the carpet in mine is to cut it to fit around the tubing and then hand stitch the carpet back together nice and clean.
