The 4mv with the biggest bowl vent in the front of the air horn is my favorite and the one i got. I got it off of a 455 firebird. I used to comb the wrecking yards and open up every rochester i could find and fill my pockets up with every internal , and external piece on them carbs. I like to use the biggest jets with the biggest needles, 76 jet and 52b needle, AX, secondary with a c hanger . I have the a and b , really the whole alphabet . With slight mods you can put electric choke, plastic secondary vacume pot, . Im sure my knowledge rivals that Gessler guy with the 10 sec buick con rochester. The head porting guy.

I should add it takes a ton of trial and error and mistakes with a Rochester before you really understand whats going on with these carbs. I like them because u can get one for 25 bucks at the wrecking yard.

Having a difficult time trying to identify the model number of my Rochester 2 Jet carb. Off a 66 300ci motor. No numbers on it. The original carb was rusted shut, water in the motor. Bought a identical carb it also has no stamped numbers but has a sticker on it that says 58810 4920, there is also a number on the sticker of 64-7007 and says remanufactured holley. I don't know much about holleys or who made them, but this definitely has GM and 2 JET Rochester stamped into the carb castings. Am pretty sure is original equipment carb because all linkage etc, matches including transmission switch. However this carb seems to be worn out at the throttle linkage, because the mixture screws have to be turned in all the way to get the idle to come up, and I can feel play in the throttle shaft. Have a rebuilt 2 bbl. from a 350 motor 7040142 but wrong carb for this car. Looking for a carb in good shape for this, or maybe I can rebuild original carb, but pretty rusty in base plate. thanks

I would also list Pontiac numbers , those carbs and Buicks work great together. It seems that the poeple at Pontiac tinkered with the Q jet to get the best performance out of them more than the other GM mates.

Jon at The Carburetor Shop has a complete listing of all cars and their carburetors. I've only copied and pasted the Buick page from 65 -----. There's another Buick page that goes through 1964, and pages for every other make and year.

    > someone on here posted a real nice list of steps with good pics of the steps needed to go through the 2GC etc .
    > do a web search "rochester 2GC" or maybe "rochester dirt" or "circle track" - some good rebuild and mod info in that area from some dirt guys that redo those .

Is there someone who can tell me if my 67 430 carb is an early or late 67 carb? The number is 7027240
The last 3 on the chart above in 68 would say it's an early carb but there aren't any numbers for 67 listed above. Thanks in advance to the guru who has the answer!!!
    I also have another 67 430 carb.
