Not too impressed with there deal, anyone notice they leave out 67-70. Look more interested in collecting money ,not a very inviting association from what I see, anyone know what happen to 67-70?

ROA supports all Riv's from 1963 thru 1999----in what way do you feel 1967-1970 are not included?

As a long time member of the ROA Anson, I totally disagree with your comments. All model years are supported, as John and Bill have stated!
Don't understand how you could come to that conclusion, and make that statement? The ROA is one of the best organizations you could ever be a member of.
It's obvious you have never attended one of their annual meets. The first time you attend it's for the cars (...all years), the second one you attend is for the people !
While I'm slightly biased, and somewhat astounded by your claim, you are entitled to your own opinion.
If by chance, your referring to the missing '66-'70 links section on the ROA website, it's probably being updated, or reformatted. :Do No:

Been in ROA since I bought my car. Never an issue. Only good stuff to say. Heck my car was even on the cover and got the centerfold. Think it was May 2012

Yes if I go to the web page, hit Riviera links it lists history links for early 63to 65 , 71 to 73what happen to 66 to 70 . I own a 68 so naturally that's the yr I'm interested in. That's ware I get the not too inviting comment from, I will look some more but I get the feeling I have to become a member to find out.

When you click on 1963-65 History, you are directed to this URL:
    Code:
    http://ateupwithmotor.com/model-histories/buick-riviera-1963-1965
So be a little bit inventive and change 1963-1965 in the URL for 1966-1970:
    Code:
    http://ateupwithmotor.com/model-histories/buick-riviera-1966-1970
Click here for the 1966-70 History :Comp:

Some of those ROA links posted are not necessarily ROA based, but are Riviera related and provided for reference only. :TU:

Im not an ROA member, but have considered it over the 20+ years I've owned my '70...you think 68 info is scarce try owning a '70 and reading all the negative press.

As far as the club goes, hard to comment. Never participated, but have snooped on the website, it is nothing out of the norm compared to any other car related web sources. Fleeting (if any) statements about the '70. But a club that at-least supports the Riv is a good thing. :TU:

Now a shameless plug for the '70 - it is the closest platform to the Stage1 you can get for in the era in optioned form without the xtra $s particularly now. :Smarty:

That's my logic anyways sourced from my research and from my father who owns an original '70 STG1 AND owned and raced a '70 GS riviera. The only other competitor for both those Buicks (according to my father and his younger days) was the famed "Hemi" power cars. They always came in 2nd to the STG1 but tied the Riv constantly. Of course these are his stories of Ohio country road races and I can't really refute them.

I've been a ROA member since 1995, and I've enjoyed being a part of the group. The money for the bi-monthly newsletters and info is well worth it. I've only had slight friction with some elitist viewpoints on occasion, but there will always be differences of opinion in any organization. I'm also serving as a tech advisor, and happy to help anybody out (member or not) with answers to tech questions.

Also, the regional meets are always a blast. I went to the ones in Monterey and Colorado Springs with my '67, and had a great time. I wouldn't have been able to restore my ride without the help I got from the ROA.

I was an ROA member for a few years, and really enjoyed the magazines, even as a 95-99 owner. My only issue was not being able to attend annual meets due to the time of year, which was spring. I'd certainly give the organization a :TU:

    Thanks for the link BadBoatail
yor rite 70 is like the forgotten red headed stepchild, must be the fender skirts. The club looks to be more for retired folks, I'm not quite there yet. Although that's wat I notice about most all car shows n clubs , mostly older people with big guts in lawn chairs . WAre are the Buick clubs with hot chicks :idea2::ball::ball:

ROA is a great club. We have passionate Buick enthusiasts of all kinds and love all the cars. I always look forward to the meets and have learned a hell of a lot from other members. By the way, your car is way cool. It was a guiding influence for my latest rebuild. Cheers!

I've belonged to ROA for many years and it's fine. Yes, lots of older members as the Buick world has been biased towards. There are 'all kinds' as with anything. Many Buick people with Rivs and the older Buick iron don't actually do too much of the restoration/maint themselves as opposed to some of the more common marques but are good folks keeping the flame going.
