What are you guys using for end gap on your file-fit rings?
Anybody going to .025 or so on he second ring, seems to be something people are trying lately,

    end gaps..

Yes, that is the common thinking these days... but the last set I did, still had the spec at .010-.012 ....

I ran them that way, no problems, always had good luck with the Plasma rings.

    Thanks for the reply Jim...
The people that do my machine work have run Olds engines for years and the last Olds 455 they built last year used a .025 gap on the second ring, motor was sound and runs well, but I think the benefit would be on a motor with an air pump,I've even heard of excluding the second ring all together.

Just looking for all the power I can find for the boys in GS Pro Street this year:Brow:

Always have gone .017-.018" on top and .011-.013" on bottom, never a problem and seemed the best for power. Now,with a vacuum pump I don't know.Sonny tried the no 2'nd ring for a while and did'nt like it,give him a call. He's back to the conventional way.

We used Tri- City Competition rings with both at .017-.018. With over 220 runs on our "stocker" engine, it just went it's fastest last weekend. Our second ring is also back-cut and provides little tension. Keeps going faster all the time... 11.78 @ 110.63

    Good luck
