I want to replace the rubber fuel line on my '72 350.I see there is a line for the 350 and the 455. What is the difference in them? I thought all Q-Jets were the same dimensionally.
    Thanks,
    Lou

The 350 and 455 engines have different dimensions. In addition, the 455 has 2 different fuel pumps, a standard pump, and the Stage1 pump which has a deeper bowl. The metal fuel lines are somewhat different for those reasons. The fittings on all the lines are 5/8-18 at each end.

Thank you very much. Still always something new to learn.

Good plan. The factory ran solid metal lines on the pressure side of the pump for good reason. They burned a lot of families to the ground back in the early years using rubber hose with clamps between the pump and carb.

I see a LOT of vehicles with cut metal lines and rubber hose with clamps, and every single one that comes in here to be worked on gets a solid steel line with double flared ends just like the factory did.

IF for some reason you have cut your metal line and running rubber hose, at least take the time to put a "bulge" on each end so it doesn't slip off. This is pretty easy to do using the first step with a double flaring tool........FWIW.....

Just a follow up. Got the line installed yesterday. I got it from PPI, if I remember correctly. Infits sorta. I found it best to start at the bottom so you have more leverage to bend it to fit on the top. Three only hard part was to bend the pipe a little. That stuff is hard.
    Thanks for the help.
