Well so far the car has ran better than I planned. I was planning on 11.50 ish. So far it has gone 11.22@119, 11.30@118 then another 11.22 @118. I have been leaving at 4000 and shifting at 5800. But on the last pass I left at 4500 and I think I broke a spider gear. Will take cover off today and see, maybe I can fix it while I'm here and try to dial this in. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->__________________
Wow not bad i must have missed your car would have like to check it out . There werent many 455 regals down this year (mine included).
Thanks, as it turned out I did break the spider gears in the posi. I called Summit on Thursday and had them overnight a spool and bearings to my hotel and it was there by 10am Friday. I went to a machine shop in town and he let me use his press to install bearings. I got to the track around noon, took rear apart and installed spool and made a pass about 3pm that afternoon. And oddly enough the car ran another 11.22, then another pass and a 11.23. This thing is just so consistant..
I am running 3.90 gears. I think I should have put 4.10s in it cause I am coming across the finish line at 5600 rpm. Next time out I'm going to try short shifting it (shifting now at 5800) at 5500 give it more time in high gear see if it makes a difference.
I missed it! I was there as well, would have loved to see it in person. do you foot brake or trans brake it? Looks real good off the line !!!!!!!!!!
I use a trans brake. The plan right now is to go to the Buick Performance Group Nationals in Ohio begining of Aug. . Maybe you can check it out if you go. Did you see my post in both Race455 section and in The Hides section about the tires?? Check it out I would value your opinion. Thanks, Don
As of now I plan on Racing in it with my car. We'll see I guess. I will look for your post.. Thanks for the reply. I love trans brakes.
