I'm converting to power discs on my '66 Skylark. I got everything I need off a '71 Malibu wagon now I just need the lines from the master to the prop valve and from the prop valve to the hoses. I checked inline and classic tube but was shocked at the prices! Is there any other options? What if I just ordered the factory replacements for a '67 with power discs? Does anyone know if these will work with the '71 hoses and prop valve?

Help, I'm bleeding cash like a stuck pig!

    not good

Brake components are not (IMHO) the place to start worrying about spending a few bucks. So if you can't pony up the money for the prebent stuff from the vendors above you pretty much need to get some lines and whatever fittings you may need and bend/cut/flare up your own lines. Autozone has all the tools you need to use for free but I'd buy the lines from somewhere else as I've had some problems getting their steel tubing to flare the last couple of times I've messed with it.

    good luck!

buy the prefabbed lines . a whole lot less problems & they are quality pieces. purchased mine from inline tube 3 years ago . did not buy stainless lines , however .

Try FineLines in Ohio. Here's their website. They are about 10 minutes from my house. If you buy them, I could pick them up and bring them to Quaker if you're coming or can arrange pickup.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm not wanting to cheap out on the brakes but $150.00 for about 10 ft. of line just seems a bit high to me. Maybe I'm just cheep, or poorer that most.

Phil, thanks for the heads up on finelines. This is what I was looking for, alternatives. They have factory duplicate lines for a '67 lark with power discs for $ 70.00. All I need to do is figure out if they'll work with the hoses and prop valve from the '71 malibu that I got the brakes from. I guess I'll give them a call.

I just have to wonder how finelines can sell basically the same lines with a few different bends for less than half of what the others want?

I ordered my kit from finelines. Phil, I'd like to take you up on your offer to pick it up for me as well. I'll pm you about it. You need to tell these guys to give you some sort of referral.

The pre-bent kits are awesome, I got mine from FineLines, $169 for all the hard lines and they fit great. Definately worth the money.

Hi Mike, good choice replacing all your lines....when I was doing the chassis on my 72 ragtop just for a laugh I cut one of the brake lines apart at a low point..it was corroded halfway through from the INSIDE!!

I used inline tube, oem style, and was very happy with them. Replaced all my fuel lines too.

These guys also make many other great parts like the e-brake cables, etc.

I did bend up my own rear diff lines, they are short and small so easy to do.

    later
    Tim
