After searching on this through the V8Buick archives, there were a few people mentioning they were going to come out with a kit for the relays and setup for convertibles. I am having issues with my top switch and figured it was the perfect time to convert over to relays, etc.. during the winter. Did anyone come out with this kit or can make me up one? Please let me know!!

    Thanks,
    Brian

Brian, I believe the parts place has one in their catalog. Or TimR website has detailed instructions for building his. elec.html Too much current on the switch. Relay is a good idea.

Do the relays from Parts Place come as a complete setup where I just need to mount them and hook them up? I saw them on their website, but if I am just paying $30 for a set of relays which I can get much cheaper, I will just go the later route and get them on my own. I know I can do this myself, but I guess I am looking for a setup with a bracket or something where I can attach them, etc.. LET me KNOW!!!

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/26-1942 for the plug that plugs onto the bottom of one relay.

I've used something like this that holds two relays

the ones above work great if you use an automotive relay with mounting tabs.

Does anyone make a complete set(ready to plug into harness) with bracket or something though? Does the parts place one come with a bracket to mount the relays???

Just did this conversion last night and I can't get my top motor to turn on(its brand new). I can hear the relays clicking to flip over, but nothing. I have redone all the connections from the distribution block I have, but nothing.

Now to add on top of all this, I started the car today, shut it off and now I have no power to anything!!!!

    Good times!!!

Any idea on why the top motor is not turning on if I can hear the relays clicking??
