    Hi all,

I've purchased an ATP JGS52 rebuild kit to fix some leaks on my TH400. I'm not going to do anything to the inside, I just want to replace some gaskets and seals on the outside. But where does what go? Some seals have a number on them which I can find on the internet and some gaskets I recognize, like the oil pan gasket for example.

But the small stuff, like this:

    Or this:

Is there somewhere documentation that addresses this? I don't want to install the incorrect seal at the kickdown connector for example.

The top picture are the seals for the speedometer gear sleeve,

The other one has the seal for the kickdown solenoid (internal)

Looks like you have some other o rings there. There are only some seals that you can replace on the outside, but you will need to remove the pan anyway. The fill tube seal, the case connector seal, and the speedometer gear sleeve seals. Just match up the O ring sizes.

Make sure you replace the seal for the gear selector.

Yeah, I think I see that one there as well.

Thanks Larry, that helps. Let's see how it goes.

Edit: I stumbled on this on youtube:

Looks like he's explaining some things here.

So I have replaced all external seals, but I am a little bit confused.

I have an original 1969 GS 400 transmission with a slip yoke. And it had an O-ring on the output shaft, as mentioned in the manual.
However, online I've seen some instructions that you have to remove that O-ring when changing from a fixed yoke to a slip yoke.

I think I'm good with the O-ring, as mentioned in the manual, but can someone confirm?
