Looking to upgrade my rear end. Feel it might be easier and maybe cheaper to just swap out my current rear end for one that already has posi and better set of gears. My current rearend is stock and I have a 300 engine.

    What cars rearends would fit?

Or would it just be better to upgrade my current rearend with gears and posi?

    Thanks.

Do you have any intentions on swapping engines are adding power to the car?
If you are just going to leave it stock,as a cruiser, then I would just build your existing rearend. If you want something stronger, for future performance abuse, get a 71-72 8.5” 10-bolt. If you can’t find one of those local,I can supply a fully rebuilt one with any gear ratio that you want. 3:08,3:23,3:42,3:55,3:73,3:90,4:10

Getting hard to find the early rears. finding a good used POSI rear with better gears usually does not work out to great as people have usually beat the crude out of them. You would have to be laying down some serious power at the track to swap out the rear for a bigger one. Buying rebuilt one like Brian said or rebuilding yours would in my opinion be a better choice than any used rear.
That rear still has good selection on parts for the rear and can be fully rebuilt.
Gears, posi , axles, Bearings ....all available going to be in the 750.00 to 1000.00 dollar range for parts...it will be totally new though... good for another 30 years.
    3.36 3.55 3.73 3.90

As stated... YOU the customer need to know what your going to do in the future and now for your size rear needs.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. Yes, I should think more about what I am planning on doing with the car in the future. I've thought about putting a bigger engine in or maybe just building up my 300. Thanks again.
