Did Buick make a special rear end in 69 that had different bearings on the drivers and passenger side?

Yes, the 68-70 BUICK ONLY 8.2 10 bolt has very little aftermarket support, and no new gear sets available at present. Fabcraft metal works has made some runs of 3.42 and 3.64 gear sets in the past. They are considering another run at present and there is a waiting list.

A friend told me he was working on a 68 GS 8.2 rear end and it had 12 bolt bearings on one side and 10 bolt on the other. He said the owner called a buick guru and was told that buick made that rear end for one year only.

Just wondering if any one heard of this before.

Yes, it's common Buick knowledge. Not one year, 3 years, 68, 69, and 70.
