Reading vaccuum & Intake question

    Here's my questions; When running a vaccuum pump on a Buick race motor, where is a good "spot" to tap in a fitting to read crankcase pressure/vaccuum? Would the fuel pump block off plate be a good spot?? Next, when running a TA SP 2 intake on the same race motor, what do you plug, or use, the large hole at the rear of the manifold for?? I believe this is for a PCV valve, not necessary on a race motor. On my last motor I put a large expandable plug in it, and may do that on this motor, what have you other racers done??
