Thanks for sharing the article. I met Joe and his car at MCACN but didn’t know the entire story about it.
I saw Joe's car at MCACN it is absolutely beautiful! I hope its at the GS nationals so everyone can enjoy seeing Joe's car.
I'm also curious about the M20? Could be miss information but this car already has a bunch of non stock parts.
Maybe someone that has some information on this car can chime in . Seems the article is only filled with the owners recollection of what it was and what it came with . . There seems to be no documentation as to the 3.91 rear and color . If I had ordered a special car like this , and relying on my friends at GM to push it thru I would have saved the letters and documents associated with it . Pictures ??? A nice car but .....
This may be the source of the transmission confusion? From a discussion I recall here, Buick coded the 4-speed as M20 but that doesn't mean to suggest the transmission is a M20.
Back then there were some dealers that really wanted to make a sale. Whether they pushed through a factory order or ordered the parts and installed them at their dealership. One GS I had before was special ordered in a Rivera color. Also not everyone was anal about keeping documentation or original this or that. If you needed a new carb , you went and bought one and most likely turned the original one to get your core money back or tossed it.
