I spied this on my lunch. Made me giggle a little as I couldn't help but remind myself of a popular movie from 25+ years ago.....
A couple mystery cars -- I know the names from the emblems (not shown,) I see a lot of 3-wheelers down here, but never saw one of these before: Guesses? C'mon -- show your knowledge!
Both mystery "car" brands start with the same letter. Yellow car was built and sold by a major manufacturer in South America. Red thing is made in the US.
I think that if you could get into my cousin Hank's house on Cape Cod, you would find it to be similar. BTW - That Kaiser might be worth something to the right person.
Years ago the bride and yours truly were visiting a friend in Atlanta, Nebraska. I noticed that the vast majority of cars and trucks were Fords. I finally asked a farmer why there were so many Ford cars and trucks; the answer was simple. The local Ford dealer had a three-payment plan with the payments due at harvest time. The farmers loved it.
That yellow car is a VW Brasillia -- guy down the. Street has a friend importing VWs from Brazil. Car is registered and insured in Florida; just not sure how that is legal.
Probably on paper it is not, but Florida has no motor vehicle inspection, and crashworthiness and emission standards are Federal in most states. When I was a vocational teacher, GM donated a Geo Prizm to our shop. It was an export model that had been destined for Europe when it received some minor damage. It came with a document that we had to sign that stated that the car could never be operated on public roads, because as a European model it was certified only to European requirements.
