Had great air at Mission Raceway Park in BC Canada last night. Car ran an 11.30 at 119 mph, then an 11.36 then rightly so, was instructed by track officials to slow down or install a cage. So the car will just have to live in the 11.50 plus as I'm never putting a bar in this clean GS. Had a blast with friends at the track. The Friday night Street Legals are so much fun. One more item off my bucket list. IMG_6894.jpeg

Weird that in a metric country like Canada they show the speed in mph instead of kph.
This is a time slip from the Netherlands:

All our lumber is still in standard….was a waste of money and resources going to metric back in the day. As far as Im concerned MPH is the drag racing standard in North America

cool you have Street Legals as well. Do They follow NHRA rules?

It didn’t feel like any tire spin. Thats 18.5 psi in the DR’s, a decent burn out.

    Canadian GS 350,
This is awesome. All that hard work has paid off. That is a great running car and you should be proud of those results.

In 2022 NHRA changed the requirements for newer cars and they no longer require a roll bar or roll cage unless they run 8.99 or quicker.

Good to know they think a new car can sustain a 140 mile an hour crash and survive, Couple nine second fatalities will change that 2014 regulation once the insurance rates goes through the roof.

I think it is just an acknowledgement that newer cars transfer less of the force of an impact to the driver than a 70's car. Crumple zones, and multiple air bags can protect a driver better than any roll bar, just sayin. Of course that newer car will be completely totaled and unusable after a crash like that, but the driver has a better chance of walking away.

Few years ago we had a high speed chase ....hellcat charger got a jeep wrangler at 140ish mph....4 fatalities....they literally put pieces in Ziploc bags ...talked to a fire fighter who worked the scene.....the charger exploded on contact part debris field went for a 1/4 mile past impact....new cars are EXPONENTIALLY safer....but after 100mph....it doesn't matter it's in gods hands then

It should be anything capable of 120 1/4 should have a roll bar that’s what I meant to say not a cage.
