Maybe this should be in the Juice Box, but here goes - maybe a dumb question but: Do you use the lock up when drag racing? I'm think about the high end Kevlar triple disc heavy duty torque converter. Do you take off and after about 60 feet lock it up to reduce slipping? Just curious...
Yea,..hit the lockup after you or it clicks 2nd,...it's rougher on the trans tho,...but if it's not over 600hp I wouldn't sweat it
I was wondering about that if you could lockup in 2nd gear, as I have that too. I did it in 3rd gear at 1000ft drops about 200 rpm. Doing this in 2nd gear may make a difference.
Yes it’s fine if it’s a good triple disk lockup. If it’s a stocking style single clutch it will burn up the clutch and the converter and then trans will fail. It’s actually a common reason the GN guys killed the 2004R even with stock engines.
