I won't be running him!

PS. until someone has gone to a P/S event they haven't really seen the coolest racers and cars. :beer

I ran a best of 13.74 at 99.70 just before qualifications. Unfortunately, I qualified poorly with a big spin (14.30 something-only one shot at it), was low man matched against Gessler. Rest of the story doesn't matter.

Brought my 1970 Bee out and ran a best of 14.03 at 97.08 just before qualification. Qualified with a 14.15 for second to last and got paired up with Dave Dudek in his Challenger for first round and summarily got B***H slapped by Dave.... I feel honored  .

Had a great time meeting everyone! :TU: :TU: :TU: Thanks for dinner JJ!

I thought I had a transmission mount going bad but before I could get under there, Tom Cannon decided to crawl under my car and check it out for me. Thanks Tom!

Hey Dave H while cleaning out my truck this afternoon I found a pair of pants. They yours??

    Hey Dave,

I have read several implications and had a phone call talking about your pants! What was so neat about them or are you so proud of your hairy calves you had to show them off? :puzzled: I have heard of weight reduction methods, but that is going a bit far! :moonu:

Yeah, it's the Clinton look. You know, I probably could have done that. BVD's would have covered the rest.

    BTW, where were you?

At home. Figured since my business show was cancelled in Fl. I would stay home and work on the car and save the money.

Add my 13.74 @ 99.7 in my Ramrod to the list of personal best. Car has run faster with old cam and Rob driving (13.30 @104.5) but not since we put this back together after the cam disasters.

Put my 14.03 @ 97.08 as a personal best as well for my 70 Bee. :TU:

This 383 has suprised me that it has run this well. Now maybe I can break into the 13's down here at sea level.

Atlanta was at 1100 ft and I think under the right conditions and traction I'll break through.

    Andy:

You and I would have had a lot of fun in a best of 3 match race. The cars are very even. All my runs were between 13.90 and 14.10 except the 13.74 and the big spin, 14.37 in qualifying (when I also fueled down the track with the loose gas cap )

As it stands, you're 1/1 on me, see you next year. I don't think you'll have any problem getting your car into the 13's. It sounds very strong.

Dave and Andy, sorry that the best of 3 shootouts got dropped. I lobbyed hard to get you F/S/ guys a separate ladder or anything, but with the rain coming, the chief organizers of the event just didn't feel that they could take the time. :Do No: I'm glad you had a good time anyway! :TU:

Congrats to Greg on his win and a BIG thanks to Year One for the continued support. :beer :)

You can bet were gonna be lobbying Year One hard for a best of 3 shoot-out format, for cars that don`t make the quick 8. The next Y1 event is April next Year and we would love to have an entire F/S feild, any chances you guy`s will break away from the cold and come down to Georgia? Most everybody had a blast this year, lots of fun and lots of track time!

:Dou: Boy, I`m cursed with the down south racing. :Dou: Of course everybody knows the first year Bristol, I redlighted. :ball: The next Year, I ran my slowest ET of the weekend and Joel ran his fastest ET and tree`ed me with his best ET. ( lost by .004 or something):ball: This year I planned to deep stage, most all of the other 4-speed cars were rolling, but I had not rolled all weekend. So anyway, it`s Greg and I in the final and I stage and I staged deep, Greg popped on his 1st bulb and my Challenger starts to roll, right as I rolled out of the beams Greg stagged fully (both bulbs). I have no choice but to pull the car of out 1st and grab reverse to get her back into the beams, before I could shove the car into reverse the lights dropped. :ball: Greg took off and I put the trans back in 1st and left, probably a good 2 seconds late and there was no time in my lane because nobody was even stagged in my lane. :Dou: I`m cursed!!! That`s racing. :3gears:

I wonder what caused that roll with the 4 speed cars? It happened to me 3 times in practice. Once was against Jack Irons, so I just stayed in it. He passed me at the 60 foot mark anyway. Think I had a -.263 light.

It was a great time, I know the cancellation of the best of 3 for us wasn't your decision. Even the best of three is difficult sometimes with the big spread in F/S cars from JJ's mid 11's to ours at 14.0. Unless you have a big field like the Stanton races, it still can result in some tough matchups (like Dan Jensen against Kelly's Hemi Roadrunner at Morocco).

I plan on coming down in April. It's a great event and will only get better. Thanks again to Y1, AMC, and the FAST crew (especially Streetwize). The offtrack drama was interesting to watch also.

    The track.

Before Milan Dragway was resurfaced, my Vette rolled out every time in the right lane.......not at all in the left lane.
