Well Nick, You will be faced with many more challanges this year maybe even a buick... Now it is time to prove your metal...
So it's $12 per person (not car) through the gate and then an additional $15 to race? Everyone was doing 1/4 mi. last year? Where was I at? ou: Dee
Dee the 1/8 mile was reserved for the guys that were running the tube chassis 10.5 tire cars with lencos. but the street event in which we participated was 1/4 mi race. same again this year.
Now I'm really scared! Having to stop after a 1/4 run with drum brakes. Yes, I'm spoiled!!!! Do you have any extra disk brake set-ups sitting around??? Dee
Just to make it that much more fun, the big end of the track is rather bumpy, and that left turn at the end.... (hope I'm not really scaring you. I've got drums too. I promise, it's not the slightest bit of a problem)
I use to race Yellowbelly and that was a scary track. Scary people too! That was a long time ago. Don't know if it's changed any since then. Dee
haha you will be all right Dee, You are with a bunch of buick fanatics We won't let the X'ers carry you off.... Unless you start beating everyone at the track with your keen womanly reaction times then you better be focusing on the Brand X's and not buicks....:beer
If you dont plan on racing then what do you get for your admission? I dont think seeing the street racers run all day is worth $15.
Justin, Temple Academy Dragway Chages a $12 admission fee for spectators to attend their event. Our event piggy backs theirs so that we do not have to rent the track. So Admission is based on them making a $. As for what you will get for your $. It is plain an simple you will get to talk with and meet many buick indviduals like yourself. There will be free food donated by the LSPBC (hotdogs, Hamburgers, and drinks). But finally you get to watch all those buicks win there races against the X brands.
Justin--For people like you and me that will not be racing---it costs us $12...that is the track's admission fee---there are no other charges to get in and see this event (unless of course you want to race, buy a T shirt, or eat something other than the free food that the Lone Star Chapter is cooking). Not a bad deal in my book to get to bs with all these great Buick people, see some damn cool cars (and fast ones at that---GS's and Turbos) and watch some great racing......all in the luxury of the shade of some massive pecan trees hanging over the stands and the starting line. All I can say is a lot of people put a lot of time into making this happen....sure--it's not the BPG Nationals...but if you like seeing the cars up close and personal (ie the stands are only a few feet from the starting line)..then that alone is worth the $12...no binoculaurs required at this track!!! Thnx , Patton
I would be going to BS with the Buick People and see their cars up close. I feel that the racing part would be a distraction, and if its loud then a deterrent to conversation. With my ears (ringing) I cant take loud noises. Hopefully there would be enough cars to keep busy with the ones who aren't racing at that time.
