Why is the back seat back part different on my `67 GS and on this `67 GS looks different?note the velcrow style on the yellow interior`d one and snaps on mine.
Goerge what your car is missing is a trac that holds the convertible top boot in place that also acts as a trim pice ,the velcro is wrong maybe some aftermarket thing. Marco
My previous '65 convertible had the metal strip with the groove thing as well. The "cover" for the space behind the seat has a hemmed edge with cord in it (a lot like seat piping) and this edge slid into the end of the groove strip. Nice find with the '67 'vert!
You know George I'm not sure were you can find one try the buick doctor ( Joe) on the board hear he might be able to help you out ?o No:
Is there a book or manual that specifically shows you how exactly everything is or goes?or if it breaks everything down for you? Thanks
ANY GM "A" body conv 66-67 (maybe 65)will be the same , should be plenty of chevys, and Pontiacs out there with the trac. Bill
Year One's catalog lists their repro top boot for the '67 as "including protective foam pocket and correct snaps"
Try a Fisher Body manual for your car year. For my car, the '70 Fisher manual is the one with convertible instructions and assembly/maintenance, not the chassis manual
George, That grooved rail is the same as those used on Jeeps for the forward bikini top fastening, may be a cheaper alternative.
George; Some of the aftermarket boots have velcro for the piece that should attach behind the back seat. My boot cover from UPI has velcro, so I just added a piece of velcro to hold it down. Given I never had the original boot, I can't be certain as to how it was held down, but I don't have any snaps behind the back seat like that, so it was either screwed down or held somehow behind the seat.
yea i`m not sure what is original and what isnt,i`m a newbie to drop tops so i dont what is original and whats not?o No:
George, not that it really helps, but my 69 is similiar to the white interior set up. Thepartsplaceinc.com lists CV1468S for a 1967 convertible, $79, "boot slide rail" and gives this description: MOUNTS ON BACK SEATAND WHAT THE TOP BOOT SLIDES INTO. COMMONLY MISSING OR RUSTED I think this might be what you need.
I just emailed to see if they can send me a pic to make sure its what i need i also want to say thanks alot to everyone for there input and thats one of the reasons i love this club, the best guys around. Thanks:TU:
