Were the 72 GS/Skylark Headlight Bezels painted over plated chrome from the factory or...were they just painted over bare metal?
I believe painted over chrome & also, there are 2 versions of them depending how accurate a resto you're doing - Don’t recall the diff. but was discussed recently in thread by @IDOXLR8 on here
Eric not sure understand the question....the 72 bezels have that chrome trim around that headlight area so the only way its going to work is to chrome the headlight bezel, then prime and paint. Don't think GM would be any different. You are not going to be able to just chrome the little trim area. Any of my original bezels that I stripped paint off were chrome underneath....and original paint shows chrome under the paint chips too. Hope that helps.
