Putting a tag on the Regal

Gas prices went up again in the last few days. About $2.13 in the Pittsburgh area. The truck gets 15MPG on a good day, but it needs a ball joint (found that out today). The Skylark doesn't get gas milage. The best option for me is to run my Regal. It still has the V6 in it but has been de-computerfied and has a 4.1 L intake (thanks Dan) and a Quadrajet from a 73 Pontiac on it (it acctually accelerates up hills!!). It gets 20-21 MPG without the converter locking up. I expect maybe an extra 1-2 MPG with the lockup (just gotta hook up a switch).

The regal is sitting in my barn with its tags on the Skylark. I called AAA today and found out that I can reactivate a expired tag :TU: I thought that was a no no in PA. Maybe I'll stick a Bicentennial plate on, or one of my 1928 plates. That prolly won't fly. But the plate from the 67 Special will, it only expired last year. Now I can have my Skylark and Regal legal with out the Plate fee. That made me happy and I had to share it with someone.

Joe, before you submit that we'll need a DNA sample of the plate . :Comp:

The sample will be coming from a 76 Electra. The results from this should prove that they are all in the same family.

Think I've heard of them. I don't belong in any of the local car clubs. There's a few of us Buick people around here and we tend to hang out together.

Has the DNA results from "the client" the regal come back yet? :bglasses:

The test subject was found to be of the same kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, but not of the same species.

OK enough of the biology talk. The Plate I wanted to put on (starting with DNA) can't be put on the Regal because the Regal title is written out to Joseph C Kelsch II. The plate is under Joseph C Kelsch. Even though this plate has been mine and nobody else's since its been registered the Notory said she couldn't put it with that title. She said PennDOT will think its not mine. Foiled again by PennDOT's silly rules. I had to buy a new plate for the Regal. It starts with FYA (what could those letter stand for???).

    Kenny,
Remember where I've heard of the Hollywood Knights. My brother has hooked up with them in Youngstown, OH.

I like how you say it can make it up hills now lol. It reminds me of my 84 Electra 4 door it couldn't do hills either

    Update on "peppy":
Got'er out of the barn. Had a horrible cough going up hills at full throttle (notice I don't say WOT; it doesn't pull enough air to fully open the secondaries). I messed around with the carb and the kickdown linkage (thought the tranny was being goofy too) I then realized that I had a rag stuffed between the fuel line and themostat housing. Stuffed rag back in and it runs great. I guess it was vaporlocking. Last tank of fuel got me 20.6 mpg.

Just changed the oil today (looks like it came out of the ground; smells like it too). I realized that I haven't changed the oil since July last year (whoops). Went to put a fuel filter in, but it already had one (don't remember doing that). Maybe I'll wire in that lock up today as well.

Got the switch wired in today. Hopefully it will make a difference. If it doesn't, it'll be there for the 350/Th-200-4r.
