Looks like this thing will get even more ugly. The new black panther party want the police officer dead. The group anonomous wants anarchy hacking local PD computer systems, outsiders are race baiting and demanding "justice", The race card is being thrown around like crazy, stores burned, bystanders shot not by cops, media , trying the police officer on the news, our Gov Nixon taking sides with the investigation still underway. My department is there for mutual aid. I am afraid more will die before this is over.

Animals, plain and simple. Why let a crisis go to waste when you can get free electronics right?

National guard was activated this morning and my building (which is a government building) is discussing protocols for "Social Unrest" .... are you kidding me?

If a verdict comes out that is anything other than Life in Prison for the officer, Ferguson will burn to the ground! That's how they see it, plane and simple.

I live 45 min from the city and my local Wal-mart has sold out of guns and the ammo cabinet is looking pretty thin.

I unloaded a load of apples at the St Louis Market last Sunday night and it was one scary drive off the interstate and driving on the streets with red lights that seemed like forever before they turned green .

I have driven all over this country but this was the worse I have ever seen . The police did a nice job getting me to the market in one piece .

A very ugly situation over there . John prayers sent to all the Firemen , Policemen , and families . Also to everyone involved in the area .

    Stay safe !

So now Dr Michael Baden is trying to explain how this guy got shot. I see him trying to match the wounds to a story that was told by the friend that was with him when he robbed the store just minutes before his death. Its obvious that our elected officials are trying to just stop the violence by throwing this officer under that bus. Before anyone in this country gets convicted he should get a fair trial. This press release did not seem dis-prove the officers story at all.

We are heading to San Antonio TX leaving this Wednesday and are changing our route to avoid the St. Louis area. No point in driving through all that with a 22000 lb motorhome. Prayers for all in the area.

Being a St Louis Firefighter I am very concerned that my Governor has called for the vigorus prosecution of the officer before the investigation was done. These police officers that protect our elected officials are now political pawns to sooth the feelings of the community and avoid more conflict. What about fairness and equal treatment under the law even for police officers. If I were a PO in Ferguson I would quit today. I hope the POA ( police officers association ) fights any take over by the county or state police. I would not reopen any store, repair shop and if I lived there I would move without even selling my home. We have a state senator threatening much more violence if he isn't convicted.

No offense, but your governor is a real Richard. He really threw that officer under the bus.

Agreed. But then again, no one should be too surprised. It's typical politician double speak. Say whatever needs to be said at a given time to appeal to whom ever is raising a stink.

As for the situation as a whole, I'm going to refrain from too much of a comment. But all I have to say is what a farce and the people doing the looting and throwing Molotov cocktails etc should be promptly and indiscriminately removed from the gene pool....

But here's hoping it all settles down and honest justice prevails.

Brad there is nothing to worry about driving through town. Business as usual, unless you are driving down west Florissant road...which I highly doubt you will.

Exactly. The trouble makers come from out of town to cause trouble. So, they must not work and live off the system and off whatever they can steal. Same type of asshats that start riots when a sports team either wins or loses a game. They live for this. Real damned nice of the governor to throw an officer with a perfect record under the bus. Nevermind that the man who was shot was a damned criminal and had just committed robbery. It should be open season on these rioters. Oh and some stupid bitch was whining about her child getting tear gas after she brought him down there after curfew with her to riot. No doubt she'll file a lawsuit. And there will be a bevy of idiot jurors who'll give her money for being stupid. Yes, this crap pees me off.

In San Antonio, TX now as I type. The most direct route was I 40 to I 30 to I 35, more or less. I kind of wanted to stop by the arch, and I do understand that I would be safe but I'm in the RV and a slow mover. I'll save it for the next trip.

PS: Dear Lord it's hot in Texas! How do you all stand it that live here???
