Thanks to all for your prayers. She is still at the hospital undergoing tests. So far the only symptom she has had was the loss of peripheral vision. Her walking and speech are fine but her short term memory seems a bit off.
Update: my wife is now home and doing well. She has some more visits with eye specialists but no other issues to deal with. Luckily it was a very mild stroke.
Great news! Had my T.I.A. stroke at 48 and recovered pretty well. It affected my left eye mostly... operation from blockage and later Carotidd artery stents. I'm 73 now and outside of normal aging doing well.
Hi Jim, my wife had been diagnosed with homonymous hemianopia. Any information you can share concerning your recovery would be appreciated.
Mark, My prayers for you wife , and you and your daughters. Also , I'm praying for your wife's doctors and care team .
Sending prayers as well! FYI - A friend of mine had a stroke a few years ago. He was around 60 at the time. He lost a lot of his peripheral vision in one eye and struggled with balance. It took a little bit of time and some meds, but now he has most of his peripheral vision back and he's back to golfing. I hope your wife bounces back quickly!
Thank you! We saw our family doctor today and he said the MRI and CT scans showed no damage to her brain, so we have high hopes for a full recovery. The only change to her meds is to add a daily baby aspirin.
