My sister and brother in law live in a small town in eastern Washington, yesterday devastation hit about noon. wild fire they had 15 min to pack up and go. The town is Malden Washington here is one link https://www.kxly.com/level-3-evacuations-issued-for-babb-fire-burning-near-malden/pic/1188874/ but if you google it a lots out there online 75%-80% of the town burned up I heard last night the only about 10 homes standing in town and somehow my sisters was one saved. Most of their neighbors wernt so lucky. Sheriff let them in today to get belongings as still spot fires and propane tanks still going off occasionally. My brother in law has terminal cancer and this was the last thing they needed but at least they still have a home. Prayers for them and their whole community.
Thoughts go out to them and the town. My sister inlaw and her husband lived in Paradise. They lost everything but their lives in that fire. They were lucky to get out. They left California for retirement in FL.
I saw that Roy, there's fires burning down south by you as well I see. Since my steam plant has large forced draft fans blowing into the boilers we suck alot of surrounding air in to the plant. Smells good when the Crab Pot throws steaks on the grill, but this week it's a campfire in here! Sorry for your Sis.
Harold things ok in my area other than a bit of smoke the Sumner fire about ten miles away as not a issue for me At my place. An update on my sisters town Malden First reports were maybe 10 houses left they say they see at least 25 Today they saw at least 100 power workers replacing poles and power lines back into the town. A huge job obviously That’s the biggest issue for those left no power or water But after seeing what they saw in town today when visiting their house they say they are beginning to feel things may be ok eventually , they town may come back. One thing I noticed in pictures I saw of their house Dead grass and trees burned right up to where they had a big gravel drive and parking area, it stoped at the front at the small green grass area in the front It spoke of the need for some sort of fire break if your in a wild fire area
Praying for your sister and brother. My sister and brother in law live in Lake Moses Washington but so far have not been in danger. Mikey
