Yesterday was a draining emotional day for our 98 year old Mom & myself as we visited her son & my only brother.
He is still at home, and hospice was just leaving as we arrived.
His voice was very week & he looked so frail in that hospice bed.
After an hour of getting his spirits up & getting him laughing he asked me to help him get to his music room which I was excited about to keep him moving and not bed ridden.
It took him awhile (“chemo brain”) to figure out the controls & remotes on his system but between the two of us we got it fired up and had music back in the house & he was sitting in his command chair in his EXTENSIVE music collection.
One that popped up on his 400 disc player was Alan Jackson’s cd his mother had encouraged him to do on old gospel songs.
Tommy’s voice was weak and mine was cracking from emotion but he and I sat there side by side singing together.
Tears were flowing & I put my arm around him and told him again how much I loved him and he reciprocated.
We played some livelier music LOUD to have some fun pestering the “girls” (Mom,brothers girlfriend & her friend) but they just let us enjoy ourselves .
He started to get tired eventually so I helped him back towards the bed and on the way he asked if I would walk him through accepting Jesus.
I got down on my busted up knees (was worth it!) beside his bed and we all held hands and prayed through it.
    Was a beautiful moment.
Mom was drained and “so depressed “ (never in my life heard her say that in my 58 years, she has always been the rock).
Figured I best stay (she still lives in the family home, drives, takes no meds!) so we skipped the tv news battles and went to the Andy Griffin shows & watched Jeopardy & had a drink together.
Mom even called then texted my sister in Atlanta (where Jeopardy comes on later) and gave her the final Jeopardy answer we already were privy too and my brother-in-law (another GREAT guy!) was asking my sister “How in the hell did you know that answer? I didn’t even understand the darn question!;):D:D:D Maybe we will tell him someday but will have fun for awhile with him:p
So again what an incredible praise that through his acceptance & admissions we will see my brother again one way or another. Any other prayers are appreciated but that was a huge answer to the prayers of prayers:)
Thank you for my friends who have left messages or talked personally on the phone to see how things were going and help through these times.

    God bless all of you.

    Fritz
