Possible to pull front crank seal with removing timing cover?

So I crawled under there this morning and the seal was installed from the front in my aftermarket cover, so it should not be too bad to pull/replace. Thanks again.

Smear a thin film of grease on seal lip and balancer hub so it will seat before it gets wiped out from dry contact.

I actually think I need this part but I'm having a hard time visualizing how it works. it looks like it slides over the crankshaft but then how would you put the main harmonic balancer bolt in? And would the timing cover have to come back off?

Slides over balancer hub, prior to installing balancer on crank snout to eliminate wear groove...Jim

If this is for sure 100% able to be installed on the balancer Hub and I do not have to take my timing cover off I'm going to go ahead and order it. I read through the message boards that this is the piece I need.
