Yes, Even tho i prefer 3.23 or 3.42, at this point not much luck finding those a sensible prices, so yes, I may be interested in the 2.93 posi.
    Thanks.

    Hello again Everyone,
Well it's been 2 years and nothing has come through on a 9 3/8" Posi unit from my Riviera w/ or w/o gears, preferably with.
As the spring thaw approaches in most of the country, hopefully someone will have something this year.
I am anxious to drive my car again.
    All help is appreciated.
    Thank you.

There are plenty of non-Limited Slip axles around, why don't you like driving your car with one of those installed, just until you find a replacement :Do No: ?

The good people at CTC Autoranch in Denton, Texas have, according to their website, eighteen 1971-1973 Rivieras in their yard :TU:

Because i do not want to waste money putting the wrong part (non-posi) in my car, if so I could better put in another easier to find posi from another GM B-body, or weld in a truck rear for less $. It just does not make sense to pay a $200-$300 on a non-posi only to have to scrape up more cash for the correct part after some cars thaw out from the winter.

WOW, i never saw pics of so many Rvis together, such a shame there are junked. I will call them in the morning, hopefully their prices are not as exorbitant as Desert Valley. Thank you.

Bruno, may have an interest in the saddle steering wheel from that '71 Estate if it's the three-spoke and nice.

    73RivStage1,

I may be able to help you one way or another.

This is what I know about 1971-1976 BIG BUICK Rear ends. First off, they entire housings interchange. There were 3 rear ends offered. The strongest being the 9 3/8 (12 bolt cover, 12 bolt ring gear, believe it was made by Oldsmobile), then in 1973 Buick started to put the 8 7/8 rear into their big cars (10 bolt cover, 12 bolt ring and pinion, made by Pontiac), lastly there was an 8.5 made(found on 350 cars and also found on Chevy Impalas, not really designed to take big block BUICK torque).

I have a real nice 3.23 Ring and Pinion that I bought off ebay a long time ago which I was told was for the 8 7/8 rear. It is a 12 bolt ring gear and has a beefy pinion gear so I believe it what I was told that was made for 8 7/8 BIG Car.

Lastly, many years ago I bought a rebuilt posi unit which is for 9 3/8 off Ebay.

I was collecting these part to put into my 1973 Buick Centurion Convt. It came with the 8 7/8 rear. 10 bolt cover and 12 bolt ring gear.

After I bought this stuff I found a complete 3.42 Posi from a 72 Riv GS. Had that rebuilt and put it in my Centurion.

Long story short, you can probably find a rear locally in Cali. No matter what, you should get it redone. Get the 8 7/8 or 9 3/8.

PS. When I put my 3.42 posi rear into my Centurion, I used new boxed upper and lower control arms I bought off ebay. One for 1977 Impala work on our cars.

    PM if you have questions.

Good luck. Want to help a fellow BUICK lover get his car back on the road.

    Will

1973 Buick Riviera GS / Stage 1 (vin shows W code for Stage 1. Previous owner had motor and transmission. Car shell is scrap, but there are some decent parts. Full frame and suspension minus the rear sway. Car has Stage 1 rear axle with 3.23 posi. Decent reusable trim and little hard to find parts.
Car is located in Northern California.
