I agree nothing complicated about Index racing at all. You race heads up with in a set class, you can't breakout. I would say it is easier than brackets, no dial ins to worry about just race.

The index is essentially your dial-in. Everyone running in the same class has the same dial-in. Just like in bracket racing, if you run quicker than the index, or your dial-in, you breakout and lose.

Doesn't look like it makes that much difference either way...

If the goal is to have similar cars run against each other (indexed groupings), but we don't want somebody to have to be in the middle of an index and have to either back off or find another bucket of horsepower...

Why not have the morning TNT, then have everybody decide their own index, and decide from there? If nothing else, surely we could just bracket race and organize ourselves in the staging lanes to run against similar cars. If that means more work for somebody, I'm volunteering myself...heck, I'll volunteer for anything anyways...

I'll be there either way, but I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into before I make the trip down there

    index

If you run a proper index race then it would be adjusted so say if you run a 11.00 index and someone runs 10.05 then the index would probably get adjusted into the 10 sec range. Plus if your just doing it to run heads up then why not just run the heads up classes you already run. Im just making an opinion Im in montana so I cant race but im just asking.

Guys don't get to worked up over this. End result is I get to see your smiling Bbq riddin faces and we have a great time. Half the fun of these events is the bench(hotel lot/ Track side) racing anyways. Racing is a bonus! :beer

I vote for bracket. For people running in the middle it makes it hard, they will have to sandbag and run in the slower index.

If I ran index racing, I am not so sure I could slow down any more to hit 23 seconds...

Maybe I will bring a different car this year.

I came out last year at Temple, and had a great time with you guys, so I'm looking forward to comng out again with my 70 (even thought I'm going to be missing the Nationals at my track!) :Dou:

Anway, I voted for Index racing. I hate doing bracket racing.

I'll go and run whatever you decide, but I really think index is more fun, and more fun to watch, because its heads up.

Kerry Bell votes Brackets. He stated as much as he likes index racing he said it would be better for the Buick community this way. He asked what index does the 16 and 17 second cars run. He asked me to post this as he feels it is not about him and more about our community. this is Kerrys opinion and I am just relaying it to the group.

There should be a lot of time to run the car John. We will have about 2.5 to 3 hours in the morining for TNT. Should be able to make quite a few runs. Then in the afternoon we will have our regular race be it index or bracket. The track will also have there evening event which will cost the buick guys an additional $5 I am unfamiliar with there standard format. However I will see if David (northcorner) can provide additional info.

Should be a good turn-out. Buick guys are coming from as far away as Canada!

How many are thinking of staying and racing in the regular track event? Just curious, figured we could start the party in the hotel parking lot a bit earlier?? Maybe we could do dinner/awards ceremony at a nearby restuarant, or are we gonna keep Franks grill going? Just thinking out loud...
