please identify

    looking in my parts pin found these. what year/car is cap correct for?

    Throttle spring retainer and a gas cap.

    For the gas cap, It was used on many GM tanks; (Buick, Olds, Chevy & Pontiac). Specifically for Buicks, the original P/N was 408679, which was replaced by 410431 in Sept of 1975.

    A totally useless factoid, for the car nerd in all of us! The "S" that is stamped on the center rivet was another caution to open the cap slowly. I guess some people may not read the BIG letters saying: CAUTION OPEN SLOWLY (on cap) lol

    I thought the “S” stood for the manufacturer.

    Manufacturer of the entire part. It was just purchased and sold by GM.

    Original caps have an "S" and also an "SMC" which is the Stant Manufacturing Company.
    They produced oil caps, gas caps, etc....

    The 455 was named that because it was "for" going "55". Displacement was just a coincidence
