please help me

does anyone know how the heck u get the ta performance headers to fit with the 455 in an 84 regal, ive tried everything, the only thing left it to beat the hell out of a few spots, any input is very appriciated.dan

thanks patrick, i wish the headers fitting the motor was my problem, i cant get the dam things to fit between the frame rails, i put them down in the car first and dropped the motor in between them like i had to with my sbc, but then i cant get them into place to bolt them in, they hit on the frame. i think im gonna try bolting them to the engine first and dropping it in tomarrow. i can only pray and curse alot.

 

We had to grind a little on the control arm to make them work on our BBB Regal

 

lol, the question is how much was a little, and did u drop the motor in between them or bolt them up first?

 

We had the TA GS frame pads and the rh side control arm was ground like 1/2 inch back and then it was close but never hit. We put the headers in after the engine was almost in. from the bottom side the front was up in the air on stands so it wasnt hard then. I have heard others say it was difficult but for some reason it was a snap for us

 

well ill be out there bright and early in the am tryin again, my drivers side is the real problem side, made me realize how much more i like working on my gs instead, all though i have some old school headers on that where the fourth tube on each side goes outside the framerail, but thats how i got it. thank u for your info, im hopeing fresh eyes help me tomarrow.

 

oh and by the way, what kind of parts do u do?

 

Also we had the engine mounted to the frame pads then put it all to gether before it was bolted to the frame and had to redrill the holes to make it look right and bolt in nice and centered. Sorry I just remembered...

well micheal, i already found something i have to buy from your site, bbb alt bracket, i got my motor from an a/c car, stold the one off of my girlfriends gs to get me to norwalk this weekend(if my headers ever decide to agree with me., u will be getting my order next week sometime after i try to sell some of my crap this weeked, thanks again.
