Took these pics with endoscope. How bad is the damage? Engine runs fine. Others on driver's side looked good.

What is your reason for peaking into the cylinders?

It’s not terribly bad, but it does show signs of pre ignition which is what made the pitting seen on the piston tops.
That blasted off aluminum from the pistons shows up as tiny little silver purplish balls on the ciramic nose of the plugs if that pre ignition ( knock ) took place when those plugs where in the motor.

so now the question is has that done any damage to the rod bearings in those cylinders, and why has that not taken place in the other bank of cylinders.

If you are running a duel plane intake then it can not be due to a lean carb issue because you would see that lean condition ( pre ignition) in some cylinders on both banks of the motor.

if this is the case then what needs to be looked at is a misfire issue due to cap, rotor and or spark plug wire issues or a intake gasket vacuum leak leaning out those cylinders if you ask me.

Just using my new toy/tool endoscope. Just bought car. New cap and rotor etc on before car bought. Replacing plugs. That particular cylinder the plug was almost loose. Car runs great. Doing front brakes b4 really driving it.
