There are no other numbers on the bottom side of the piston?

I did a lot of looking around for that forging mark, sorry to say empty-handed so far.

Pictures of the top and side of the outside of the pistons might help.

I vote forged; rounded edges and lack of parting lines. Interested in seeing more photos.

    No other #,s or markings except .030 on top I believe. 260A4991-C5FD-4DF9-8F9B-AD616F317986.jpeg 6B861EE4-32E6-4D06-9738-E11847AA562E.jpeg F4EA4A46-59F2-493F-A9C2-F24C43EB1C90.jpeg 95BB99DE-6D73-477B-A73E-9F7A4065F7D5.jpeg 260A4991-C5FD-4DF9-8F9B-AD616F317986.jpeg 6B861EE4-32E6-4D06-9738-E11847AA562E.jpeg F4EA4A46-59F2-493F-A9C2-F24C43EB1C90.jpeg 95BB99DE-6D73-477B-A73E-9F7A4065F7D5.jpeg

They really look a lot like the old TRW/Speed-Pro/Sealed Power forgings, judging by the depth of the dish probably low compression for 1971 up.

Beat me to it… I agree. I’ll see if I have any old photos of mine, as I don’t possess the pistons anymore

And, confirmed. There's a set of old TRW pistons on ebay showing your forging mark. Your pistons are very early forgings from TRW. Likely the low compression version based on the deep dish as I mentioned earlier.

Here's the ebay piston with similar 3XX-99 number and same forging mark:

Yup, that is the classic budget forged TRW/Speed Pro slug. And yes, they are heavy. If you clean the carbon off the top of the piston, you will find the part number. Will be L2362 or L2353 depending on how old they are. The "53" number superseded the "62" number in the 90's. But the pistons are basically the same... 24cc dish, 1.975 Compression distance, about 900 some grams with the pins..

Those must be really really old TRW pistons because I have a TRW catalog from 86 and those two numbers are not it!

Thanks everyone. They had me stumped. Someone out must be putting together a street engine and could use these. I hate throwing things out. One look in my garage would tell you that!

A pic from a motor sent to me for inspection earlier this year. you can clearly read the 2362P 030 on cylinder number 5 there.

You need a Sealed power/Speed Pro Book probably to find them.. I think they went to that in the late 70's from TRW..

You can also see how far they sit in the hole on this uncut 71 Stage 1 block.

I've got a customer who would like to have those pistons if your selling them.

    I will PM you..

They heavy but pretty damn tough,..I ran a set that was over 20yrs old when I got them in an engine that had been ran hard then I ran them hard on 93 octane and 42° ,..combo liked that much,..they even received a valve clearancing while still in the bore with a dremel tool to get a poston110 cam to clear
