    Michael Evans a new project

When you say "short time", you mean 60 foot time?

    Is that 2.20 seconds?

When I've run a MT radial slick or dot they hook best for me 19-21 psi.

Started @24, worked down from there, didn't make much diff. I'll go back up and try again without the sway bar.

    Thanks,

Just ask your fellow racers at the track about this stuff, [IMG], If you can't hook on this, then start all over on your rear suspension.

I normally run 18-20 lbs in my M/T's. It seems to me a narrow tire on a wide wheel would need higher pressures and a wide tire on a narrow wheel would need less. There's always slight variation for optimum.

Traction on the street is nowhere near what traction at the track is like even with a great tire. You really can't make comparisons other than to say this tires spinning less than that tire. If you get no spin on the street then you'd probably hook up under the worst track conditions.

My buddy got a good deal on a pair of new 275 60 15 Nitto Drag radials for his '72. He was trying to save some money by not getting the more expensive M/T's. It has run 11.9's with 60's in the 1.65 range on some purchased cheap used worn M/T 255 60 15's. In fact the last time he was at the track in May his first run was in the 11.90's and then the next it was 12.0's and then slower than that . We looked at the tires and the cord was starting to show. I hope he isn't in for a big disappointment when we hit the track in a few weeks.

I haven't run a front rollbar on my '65 GS pretty much forever. I do run a rear one to help level the launch. My '76 Century Special didn't even come with one from the factory. The Special was the cheap model. A car doesn't need a rollbar to handle decently. Obviously a rollbar improves handling but it isn't necessary for a car to drive correctly. Taking one off doesn't throw a car out of wack. A car without one just won't do what the same car would do with one in the turns. I have my '76 set up to handle good and I have all kind of extras on it to help handling including a 1&3/8" hollow front bar.

Try telling this guy that,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu7zAfEnuEM, he use's Pimpjuice on the street. Never say what you said, because the street is totally different then the track, Once you hook on the street ,you hardly ever hook at any track. Yes he tried the DragWeek and never made it because he couldn't hook and other problems. Oh by the way he is a low 7 second car on the street in the quarter. Think about that for a second.

Went out on Sunday first run was a 13.16,ran between 13.19-13.15 all day . Then on last run dialed in a 13.15,pulled a .034 light left my buddy todd in the dust, since the car had not turned better than 13.15 wasnt concerned with braking out. Wrong 13.07 103.00 again went home...car loved the density of 4923 and a good tail wind, unfortunatle this was the last race of the season, will pick it up in april...Good luck to you steve, still not sure of my cheapo port job.
