Ah makes sense . . . my motor mounts are new. Bad idea? I know I can slide the trans under when it's not on the jack, but then I don't know of a good way to lift the trans up onto the jack or engine after that o_O

    Lolol mmmmmm struggle:p
It’s not easy, but I tip the trans forward then try to slide the trans pan onto the jack saddle. The real bitch is trying to manipulate that thing while laying on the floor:mad:
When you tip the trans forward to try and get the pan on the jack saddle remove your converter as it will slide off ( another bitch)

Well Mark, I ended up being able to avoid the struggle :D This was kinda of sketchy I suppose, but I found a nice place on the frame to attach chain hooks and was able to use the hoist to lift the car sky high and barley slide the trans/jack combo under! Also I don't say this enough, sorry my garage is so messy all the time

So now the trans is positioned, but I still have to get it bolted in (for the 3rd time!).

Good news! My 1/2" hardline from the frame to the FPR fits with the engine in! It's tight, but clears. I'll make a heat shield for the lines where they pass near the exhaust manifold:

While I was there, I decided to bolt a turbo to the driver side turbo manifold and do an eyeball mockup, letting it rest on the current exhaust manifold and steering shaft. I'm a little worried about downpipe to master cylinder clearance, but I won't know for sure until I do a proper mockup and try to bolt things together. As much as it pains me to take parts off the engine again, I should probably do this mockup now rather than later. I'll attempt to bolt both turbo manifolds, turbos, and downpipes on to see how it all clears.

Keep in mind in these pictures I was holding my phone with one handle and balancing the turbo/manifold with the other so not exactly consistent clearances in each picture:

Does anyone have any pictures of a turbocharged 350 in an A-Body with power brakes? I can only seem to find images of ones with manual brakes. I wanna see what the downpipes look like!

Looks like I answered my own question. I pulled these images from the Motortrend article on the Burton 350 Twin Turbo kit:

    https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/hrdp-1206-100hp-bolt-on-addition-the-buick-350hp-turbo-kit

Here you can see the kit installed, but with no downpipes:

And here you can see that they had to switch to manual brakes:

    They even say:
"Because of the proximity of the down tubes and brake booster, we switched to a ’76 Malibu manual-disc-brake setup."

Now I'm wondering how I'm going to route my downpipe with my extra long booster/master, and here I was thinking that a small booster would help :(

    You running singles or twins?
Either way I don’t know if you looked at how Buick had the 86/87 GN turbo set up on the passengers side.
If you mimicked that design on the LEFT side of your engine as far as tube routing, it might afford you more room.

You guys better run 10sec with these turbo 350's since that is where it should be based on those 6cyl I have seen over the last 20+ years.
