By my math at 3800 lb you’re going to need to make 450 hp to run mid 11s .
That would be a good bit easier with iron big valve bowl ported heads a scienced out 3 angle valve job and valve lift should only need to be .525 to .540” in that case.

Having what Larry said you need over 500 hp to get into 11’s. As I said in my first post, you need a combination of things, first things and easiest bang for the buck is rear gears and weight.

I've run mid 12s with 2.56 gear and 2500 converter and mild combo. SP2 cam, small valve ported heads, Poston headers, Performer intake, 800 Qjet in full weight Skylark. With 3.90 gears very low 12s and a few 11.90 passes. It's all in the combo and tune......

My car has a motor Thumper (Gary) built 20 years ago. 9.7 comp, maxi 3 cam, SP1, 3.73, MT headers, 3" exhaust. Can runs super consistent 12.10 @ 110-111 on drag radials. That was before the carb was redone to 870 and tuned, JW trans and 9.5" convertor and weld draglites with dog dish. No newer times, but I'm sure it's not slower.

Plus a new chapter is in the works.

Best was 12.66 at 109 with it all revved out in 2nd gear at Cecil.

3.90 gears picked up 1/2 second from the 2.56.

It’s more like a Carter or Autolite version than a QJet to me. I’m talking about the crap Edelbrock makes these days.

Does it have the Spreadbore design?

In 1970, I bought a Holley with a spreadbore design and this was an excellent carburetor plus got me excellent gas mileage on interstate driving.
    I really liked this carb.

I see Holley doesn't offer this design anymore. Too bad.

The old discontinued Edelbrock Quadrajets are excellent. Especially the 1910. I have three Edelbrock Quadrajets. A 1901, a 1902 and a 1910. The 850 1910 is an excellent performance carb. If you see one for sale at a swap meet or on Marketplace best grab it. They are the best quadrajets I have ever had. I bought my 1910 Performer RPM Quadrajet new in about 2002. I couldn't be happier. The 1901 and 1902 I have picked up were on Marketplace for cheap. People do not know what they are. All of them work great. Here is some info on them. https://www.carburetion.com/Rochest...-BH3DuMydlq1TORxSRRpzcedIN1ptfshufyiVjLIJrd4j I have added a couple pictures of them below. They are licence built so all parts interchange. Carter also made Quadrajets for GM as well in case you did not know. They do say Carter on the side.
