Parts Place 1970 GS grille

I was comparing it to my NOS grille. Found that I had to trim down both center grille stud bases by ~ 1 to 1.5 inches before it came close to fitting.
FYI: I used a dremel with a flapper wheel which took each base down evenly and cleanly.

 

I had a HOT MESS with their first runs and even worse customer service. That's why I shy away from TPP..Glad it worked out for you..

Recently purchased one also. Paint looks great to me. Having same problem mounting though. Customer service was good for me, was sent two new shorter studs for free. Still having mounting issues, may be bracket or grill not 100% sure. Cautious about trying to modify, journeymen here. Did trim down let grill fit right on? cause my original slipped right into place. Hope this helps anyone and any help would be appreciated.

Did you call customer service ? Were you told you are doing it wrong, and we have never had any one else have this problem?
