Guys, I am installing a new parade boot in my 64 Wildcat and am looking for hints for a successful install. It seems simple enough. Slide the front edge into the groove, center with the snaps, and your off, but sometimes there are little tricks that save a lot of trouble. Should I use some type of lubricant where the front edge slides into the retainer on the back of the seat? If so, what works best? Bees wax? (which I use on the rear window zipper), dish soap? Silicon spray? other?
When I did mine about 12 years ago, I didn't think about it until it got stuck. Then I soaked it in Armor All beecause it was handy and didn't seem like it would hurt. It worked, but there may be better things to use.
Thanks Chris, I didn't think of Armor All but it makes snese to me since that is likely what I'll use for a protectant.
I know it's slippery because my father almost killed me after I got carried away detailing his car when I was in high school. I used it on the pedals without really wiping it off. :spank: Luckily, he noticed it before he drove off and not when his foot slipped off the brake pedal when he needed it.
