Here are some pics of the side stripes when they were just put on.

Again, only the early cars had the stripes over the rear wheels.

Thank you Duane! Wow, I think I can honestly say I don’t believe I have ever seen those stripes on a 69 GS, but I am far from an expert.
Pardon my ignorance, and the hood scoop, it’s supposed to be painted white also? I like it!

The Trunk was also striped from the factory, but is a little different on my car.

The factory stripes are on both sides of the wide "Motion" stripe but they started at the top of the trunk lid.

Motion added the wide center stripe and continued the factory pin stripes from the trunk lid up across the tulip panel to the vinyl top.

Plus a pic of the guy that put them on by hand. You can see in the pic that he has the passenger side done, but not the driver side.

The White hood scoop stripe and the white pin stripe around that were also part of the "Motion" Striping that was added. The factory never did that.

When my friend Jimmy first got the car you could make out all the striping that was on it. Some of it was hard to see but it was still visible. Sorry I am taking over this thread.

"Dang, this is like a detective movie, and I do mean way the hell better than what my wife watches! Very cool"

Yes, this is how we learn about the cars. We find a hint about something by either looking at the cars or in some factory information, then start checking by looking at known examples of existing "unmolested" cars and develop answers.

By looking at the assembly manual last night I discovered how the discs/drums were painted on the 68 cars. (You have to remember that I do not have one of these cars so never checked this type of thing closely.)

I will leave it up to you guys to figure that out.
    Enjoy.

PS. I remember giving a copy of a 67 Assembly manual to Larry Miller before he passed away. He was at the GS Nats and I was told he sat there for hours going thru it. The next day he told me he absolutely enjoyed seeing that the book corroborated everything he knew about the cars from years of learning. Larry knew more about 67 cars then anyone in the world. I even approached him one year at the GS Nats to help us judge some 67 cars in the Concours Class.
