    Anyone have this trailer?

Im looking into buying an enclosed trailer. I deceided on a 8.5x24'. I really want an Exiss Mach 10 but they're north of $20k. There's a brandy new 24' 2010 Shadow GT in Connecticut for $16k.

Im looking for feedback on build quality and longevity of plywood floors in general. So what do you think about Pace American?

but i converted it to electric brakes..much better, it is heavy though.
but this trailer is good quality..even being 13 yrs old, still looks like new.
here's a pict with all the crap i put in it :beer..best part i got it for $3500.00

Depending on options that is not a bad price but if you travel down south or to Ind you can probably save 5 or 6 grand. Jr got his 32' from KC Trailer off of RacingJunk for 16,000 and that was fully loaded extra tall & a 32' tag. They had 24' for under 10grand loaded but that was 2 years ago. They are willing to deal. 3 year warranty on everything. Called them last week because a few screws were showing some rust and they sent a huge bag of them. When the wind broke the awning the first time we used it they sent us all the new hardware free eventhough it wasn't there fault! The trailer brand we have is Forest River & I would by another one in a heartbeat. See you Sunday Jason.

Thanks for the pic Chris. Thats the puppy

Im probably going to park it on dirt or grass. Do you think that will rot the plywood floors? Then again, Jennifer's horse trailer has wood floors and they're still in great shape. Plus they get peed on too:laugh:. Im going to see if I can spec one out with the extruded aluminum floors instead.

Im gonna miss my open trailer if I get an enclosed. :ball:

Looking forward to Sunday John. Im trying to convince Jen to go with me for once.

    Jason,
The dealer I used to work at was one of Pace American's largest dealer. I would recommend the extruded aluminum floor for a few reasons. More durable, brighter and easier to clean. The plywood lasts longer than you think, like you mentioned with the horse trailer, landscapers will have things growing in the trailer and no rot. Come to think of it, the only car haulers that I recall that have plywood floors is the entry level outback model. You could also get coin flooring. Expensive but real nice. I wouldn't shy away from a Pace with a price like that, provided it has the right axles under it.

So the dealer I called got back to me on an exact price of a 24' Exiss Mach 10. Are you sitting down? $28k! And that's with basically no options, not even a workbench or cabinets. Yikes! Its a sweet trailer though. The Rolls Royce, or should I say the Snap On of trailers :pp

A new trailer is an expensive proposition any way you look at it. Even $16k for the Pace is nothing to sneeze at. So I asked the guy about financing it. I figure maybe for 16 grand they would have some sort of competitive financing. Kind of like an insentive to buy new instead of used. Makes sense right? The salesman tells me the average apr is 12%. What? I know loansharks that are cheaper. I was hoping he was going to say zero percent or 2.9% financing like a typical new car loan. He tells me the only loan available is basically a personal loan. You would think that they would have some insentive to move these things off the lot. Is the trailer market that hot? I cant see things things selling like hot cakes in this economy

So I really dont get it. Why buy new then? If I have to take a personal loan out, why not just buy a used trailer and save 50%? These guys have a needle in thier arm if they think Im signing on for that

 I hear you, and couldn't agree more. Sorta like robbery in the 1st degree. An acquaintance has a nice enclosed 24' (Pace) trailer he will be selling shortly and I'm considering purchasing same. New? I can afford, but simply won't. New dealers are ridiculous. Hang tough. Jim :bglasses:
