I have launched my 200-4r from the hole with full on nitrous with a 1.61 60 ft with 3800 lbs and it is fine. Just follow the rules with the cable set up and you will be ok. If I was to go any faster I would look into a billet drum, that will be the part that breaks. This part is expensive. Vince Janis does a great job building them he has been building trans for over 35 years and his dad had it before that. He races a Grand National.

I never had an overheating problem but I do run a cooler and I do run a 3000 stall so the cooler is needed for that. This trans never leaks, the 350 trans would leak at the front seal when it sat over the winter then would quit once running again.
You only need a wire to a switch to lock up the convertor which you can do yourself and can lock it up in 3rd gear when cruising the back roads very easy to hook up.

I would step up to at least a 342 gear as this will work a lot better for the gearing and lockup convertor. You will probably be around 2 thous rpm at 65-70 mph. You can probably set the whole thing up for less than 2 grand. I bet it can be done for a grand if you are not looking to put a lot of horse at it. Mine was set up to launch on nitrous and my convertor was 800 alone, but I got out with a price tag of under 2 grand and that is with having a new driveshaft done.
