Very sad. Guess you couldnt "tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God" anymore or you would be commiting a crime. Just another attempt by the man to keep a brother down.:pray:

Separation of Church and State is right there in the US Constitution. This country started out as a refuge for people being religiously persecuted. The Founding Fathers wanted a country where ALL people were allowed to practice their religious beliefs. Read some history. Quakers, Jews etc., persecuted in their home countries emigrated here to escape that persecution. The evangelical Christian majority is pushing their agenda onto all other faiths in the military, this is nothing new. ALL persons should be allowed to worship, or not, as they see fit. In this case, it's about christians in the military pushing it on everyone else, and acting like martyrs when they get their chops busted. When 86% of the country is nominally christian, where is that considered a minority?

I asked for prayer for our servicemen, So if you would just pray these men are "not persecuted" for their faith. Thanx

No it isn't. The Constitution says we don't sponsor a religion. "Separation of church and state" is from a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote in the early 1800s. I could look up al the details but I'll leave that to you since your clearly uninformed in this area.

Prayers for our troops Moz! :TU:

Having served in the military for 6 years, I think those people should review the oath of enlistment....especially the last "few" words:

I, (STATE YOUR NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Yeah you can't say a lot of things you want while you're in the service. And it's gotten worse over the years. After being retired for five years I'm beginning to say what's on my mind more and more and without hesitation. Between politics, and all those organizations (naacp, aclu, etc...) you can't say squat. Keep our service members in your thoughts and prayers ALWAYS!! I do!

Considering that our troops face possible death or injury each day that they serve, they should not have to endure additional issues such as these.
Prayers sent.

They’re out there. And they’re not happy with the old myth of “no atheists in foxholes” Or being pressured or coerced into religious observance.

Not believing in an imaginary God does not make you a better or worse person
than someone who does.

The same applies to members of the military. I have the greatest respect for professional solders.

I disagree that our service men & women need prayer.They need our support.

And we should remember that it was their sacrifice that gaveme the freedom to profess my athiesism.

The same sacrifice that gives believers the same freedom to believe in their God.

True That ! Why would some one who does not believe in God come to a forum that involves prayer ?
To perhaps derail the thread ??

Not my intention at all. I am stating my views. Unless I’m personally attacked,
(and thus far I haven’t been) , this is my last post on this thread.

[h=1]
He Lives

[/h]I serve a risen Saviour,
He's in the world today;
I know that He is living,
Whatever men may say;
I see His hand of mercy,
I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him
He's always near.

####Chorus:

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives
today!
He walks with me and He talks with me
Along life's narrow way.
He lives, He live, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives:
He lives within my heart.
