My buddy "Big Earl" Talley and I registered my black '70 GS455 for the Supercar Reunion last year (July 2021, Beech Bend). We had to place it in the "musclecar" class because it has no "Supercar" lineage, but we thought it would be fun to go out and play with all the Yenkos, C.O.P.O.s, Motions, etc. Nevertheless, we were sporting Reynolds Buick shirts, the logos for which Mr. Don Reynolds graciously provided. Earl was making time trial passes and paired up against a beautiful blue 1969 SS396 Chevelle that boasted a vanity plate reading, in part, "L78." Both cars staged, and three yellows and a green later, they were grabbing asphalt. Blackie took the win, posting a 12.14 @ 109.91 against the Chevy's 12.73 @ 108.81. When Earl got back to the staging lanes, the Chevelle driver found him and said, "Your car ran so good that I thought something was wrong with mine!" Gotta' love it. BTW, Blackie (and Earl's 1968 GS350) received some ink in the article about the Supercar Reunion in the April 2022 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines. Give it a look!
Well, it's "here, in print", so that works. Any forum member that wants to put it on shirts etc, and make some parts money, it's OK by me. If it does well, send Jim some, for the board!
