Sure did come from Ohio - I looked at your site and I am pretty sure Tim's Olds is now mine. Please tell me what work you did on this car and what you know about it. I am not sure Tim told me everything (or even the whole truth) Anyway, would love to hear from you PM or e-mail jfmjr442@hotmail.com John
Really nice car..... Actually, Tim is a very honest individual. I bought both my GS's and my '66 Chevy II Super Sport off of him, and he never lied to me about anything. I remember that car having possibly the nicest original body I had seen on a convertible in a very long time. Mainly the work I did on it for him was detailing. It has been a long time since I worked on that car. I will have to ask an Olds buddy of mine what kind of work we did do on that car. I cannot seem to remember. I know I drove the car and positively loved it! Seems like I buffed and glazed it....detailed and redyed part of the interior maybe....fixed a light or two.....that kind of stuff. Maybe I repainted the trunk in it.....I definately will have to ask my buddy now. John
John I was not implying Tim was not honest, just that he did not have all the details of where he got the car. Only issue I had was the tranny, which starting going out after about 200 miles. I have owned now for almost 3 years , put a 455 in it, ralley pac, sport wheel, rebuilt the tranny with shift kit, added 3.42 gears and a posi, new rear springs, shocks all around, front brakes upgraded to crossed drilled slotted rotors, ceramic pads, new booster and MC. Also added a dual gate. I attached a before and after pictures of the engine bay - may jog your memory. Anything else you can tell me would be great John
One you dont see everyday My 63 Olds Jetfire 4-Speed. 99% original including paint. 77,000 miles. Some engine hoses have been changed. 1 of 101 4-Speeds made. A factory all aluminum 215 CI alcohol/water injection, turbo-charged V-8 producing 215 hp and 300 TQ.
Not scanned with very good resolution, but now you can see where my UserName comes from: It's an Alabama car, documented W-30, with AT and AC, nicely optioned.
Niiiiiiiice, Dave. Here I thought you were working on your Hurst-clone/W30 and THAT's what rolls out of your garage? o No: Yet Rusty gives me grief about my headers .......
I just found this thread and thought you all might like this photo, or you may know this guy. This was at the NHRA Division 2 race in Bradenton in March. I talked to him for awhile. He was in "teardown" waiting for the Tech to come look at his stuff. He was in teardown because he had set the D/Stick record that morning. :TU: The car is an original W-30, but he is running a non-W30 engine to fit into D/S better. It's obviously a 4-speed car. Have fun.
