Hi Everyone! Last year, I bought some PC-7 epoxy and tried to repair my '65 Skylark's steering wheel (it was cracked all over the place). Well, I feel like I followed the instructions pretty well and there are thin cracks reforming; and frankly, it's just a driver and I'm not a perfectionist. It used to have a dark blue cover that you used to be able to get at the parts store, the one that threads onto the inside diameter of the wheel. Anyone know where I could get one of those things? The old one's in pretty bad shape by now. Any help, as always, is appreciated. Thanks!
Are you thinking of the old "Sport Grip"? Here's one on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3342601821...icfFJtynv7usQteHVG_jhSYtxPs-RA8hoCW38QAvD_BwE
If you have the funds and the desire. You may want to get in on the recast wheel. (taken down to the steel frame and recast) I did a few back, and am extremely impressed with the work and pricing. https://v8buick.com/index.php?threa...storation-group-purchase.377801/#post-3305605 Anot option is "Wheelskins". I did the temp wheel I have while having the original re-done. https://wheelskins.com Here is mine with Wheelskins cover and no padding. (Looks better in daylight that the fluorescent garage lights)
Thanks Michael, I actually found the wheelskins website today; I'm glad I have a testimonial before I buy one. It looks nice! Mine will be the same color as yours (I have a blue interior too). I'll have to wait and see on the recast wheel...it's really not that kind of car, more of a 20 footer. Thanks again!
