Well, I live in Ohio, and yes, it kinda sucks.
For instance, we only have 2 seasons: Winter and Contruction. Actually, this Winter we still had construction.
Another sucky thing is all the crazy Michigan drivers, lol. We learn to stay away from those blue plates.
Could be worse, though, I could live in......

Please be tolerant of us Michigan drivers with the blue plates. We don't thaw out until we hit the Kentucky/Tennesee border. :)

I don't know about Ohio in general but I can confirm that Clevland does not rock.

Well, all I know is 2 of the Buick events this year are in Ohio, so for that I am grateful. There are many things about Ohio that do SUCK. But my family is from Marquette MI, so I have lived in both places. Much better scenery in the U.P. for sure.

Driving a little faster might help. :)

    Drive fast in Ohio?

Are you kidding? A Michigan car driving 1/2 MPH over the posted speed limit in Ohio? I always wondered if all the Ohio State troopers are descendants of Wayne Woodrow Hayes.

    Hey Derek:

My Dad grew up in a small town near Marquette named Champion. That really is beautiful up there.

MIchigan would be great if we could get rid of Detroit. Anybody want it? .....didn't think so. :(

Kwamie Kilpatrick has asked Jenny Granholm if Detroit can sedede and move everything to Belle Isle and grow their own vegetables. Jenny's thinking about it .........

    Ohio is alright

Dont bust on the place. Its got some of the cheapest insurance in the nation. Plus if you've never driven or ridden the roads in the hocking hills ( called HockingHeim by more then one car magazine. (Hocking Hills is about 50 miles south of Cumblowus, the capital city, home of the buckeyes ( got to get that in  ), in the fall you're missing out. The staties can be assholes , but the only time I ever got busted was 86 in a 65, so I cant really complain.
Yes winter could be about a month shorter , summer can get sticky , taxes are a little high, but where are they not.
    Cheers

Have you noticed when entering Michigan from Ohio the black strips of rubber from everyone standing on the throttle?

Thought that was everyone standing on the brakes to avoid the potholes on the crappy Michgan roads :)
But you're probably right , my cruise speed in OH is only about 75-80. once I get to MI its up to about 90, at least then one can make progress . Not as quick though as when driving in Ole Miss or Louisiana , everyone there seems to be doing about a 100, even the little old ladies :jd: or scarier still 18 wheelers , and Im only slightly exaggerating

And they want to tax people who eat at fast food resturaunts 2%!!!!

Yeah, but like the new no smoking ban they're proposing for Wayne County, the city of Detroit will be excluded from that. The way Granholm, Kwame, and their old guru, McNamara all think, I'm surprised they haven't started an "earned calorie credit" for the city of Detroit, such that you could get paid to not eat at fast food restaurants. Wait a minute......didn't we do that with the farmers?

Those black strips on I-75 at the Mich border:

When we used to caravan the Streetrockets to Norwalk for the Dick MIller race, we actually did lay a lot of rubber down as we hit the border. We pretty much stayed in line and behaved while in Ohio, but at that border it was like the beginning of the Grand Prix or a Nascar race where everybody went for a lane and picked a fast one to follow. Fun times. :)

Now they are talking about a bill that would ban smoking in all resturaunts and bars statewide, that woul dbe ok with me, I don't smoke :Do No:

I don't either, and would be glad to see it stopped in restaurants. But I think that should be left up to the proprieters in a free market. If a restauranteur wants to offer smoking in his/her own place, then he/she should be prepared to lose business from those who don't want to eat there, like me. Likewise, if he/she doesn't want smokers there, it's their prerogative to outlaw it in their establishment. If that hurts business, he's not much of a businessman/woman. Should be able to capitalize on that (unless it's banned everywhere, then it's not an advantage). I hate missing the best hamburgers at good bars because I can't breathe in them anymore. But I don't think they should outlaw smoking just so I can go eat a hamburger there. But if the owner would do that voluntarily, I'd be the first to start going there again. Thinking of Mason's Lounge at Farmington and Schoolcraft in Livonia.

Aren't there more important things our congress could/should be working on than this? Don't get me wrong, I fully support No smoking in public supported buildings/offices/etc. But private businesses, like private homes, and private cars doesn't need big brother's help. When has that ever helped anything except add cost and bureaucracy, which needs to be supported by more bureaucracy.
