    Seller’s Description:
1972 Buick GS350 in hunter green with black vinyl top sporting its factory metal and interior. The car is a fantastic example of what comfortable cruising and small block grunt would have been like in the day. I would rate the condition of the car as good to excellent and is reliable as it is beautiful. The car has a personality of its own and is never a stranger to anyone, garnering compliments wherever it goes. It presents well and is a blast to drive, a welcome addition for anyone looking to enjoy a classic. The car has been documented by the Sloan Museum as a Fremont CA build, sold at McClellan Buick in La Mesa CA. An original build sheet and reproduction dealer tag tells the origination much better than I can. The car shows 33,400 miles on the odometer. Other than the previous registrations that were handed to the department of motor vehicles, I have no documentation to prove if it has been rolled over or not. The only evidence on hand is in the condition of the vehicle itself.

    Engine and powertrain

All hard motor parts are original to the vehicle. Some consumables such as hoses and pumps have been replaced by over the counter remanufactured parts. What had started by replacing a leaky rear rope seal ended up as a full re-gasket of the motor. It seemed like the right thing to do, and as a result the car leaves the garage floor dry. The transmission received the same treatment before being tucked back under the car. Rear end is an open 3.08 and cruises about 2,700 rpm with level ground on the highway. The only items that do not look factory are an aluminum radiator and aftermarket air conditioning compressor. The A/C was gone through and refilled with R12, blows at 43 degrees out of the center vent.

    Interior

Bucket seats, center console, tilt wheel and gauge package set off the driving experience. Driving entertainment is provided by an 8 track player, AM-only radio, and dual exhaust. Headliner is not sagging, seats are in fantastic shape, and carpet presents well.

    Paint and body

There was a repaint at some point, one of the few clues I heave lead me to believe it was some time before 2000. The paint presents well and looks deep. However it is older and has some blemishes and rock chips. All together I would say these defects represent less than 1% of the total area of the paint. There is no rot or rust damage to the body, rust prone areas to this model are free and clear. Chrome shines well and is complete throughout the vehicle. Trunk has no holes and was refinished with an Eastwood spray kit.

    Wheels and Tires

The pictures show Buick factory wheels in 15x7 wrapped in 245/60 Cooper Cobras. The original 14 inch wheels have wide oval reproduction bias plys that are stored safely away. The 14" wheels have better chrome than the 15"s.

    Suspension

All factory rubber, 1-1/4" sway bar was added to the front, and 1" in the rear. Both can be taken back off and the original sway bar added if desired.

    Final thoughts

Overall this is a very unique and beautiful ride that will not fail to impress. It is not perfect, and is distinguished by some character that comes with age. However it is not enough to diminish from the total package that this Buick provides.

    Price: $21,000 negotiable

That's a very nice appearing GS- I wonder how long it has been out of the southwest, and if it is truly rust free underneath. The rainy summer (2004) I left my 72 in Columbus, Ohio for racing the 3 Buick events that year it had a little rust to get after underneath and at some trim openings just from humidity and rain.

Pretty car, but why does it have tri-shield emblems on the C pillars of the vinyl top and 350 call outs on the quarters like a Skylark? Personally, I would look closely at this one because the factory often screwed up once, but twice?

It could be a 33,000 mile car. Brake pedal looks that way and rest of condition of car.

This is taulbee2277's car. I've been in, under, around, and drove it. It's every bit as nice as it's presented in the ad, if not nicer. And it is a legit GS.

So inquiring minds want to know-did Buick build it with the extra emblems?

Yes. Likely installed at the factory. Duane looked the car over and checked the date codes on the body. He advised me to look behind the dash for a body shop sheet. Ive seen quite a few 72's with incorrect emblems. How many 72 GS's have you seen with Skylark hood emblems?

Doesn't the "G" in the upper right hand box denote a GS?

Yep, that’s mine. Chronicled everything I ever did to the car on this site, I forgot to post the Hemmings link in my “Cars for sale leads” post.

Did you order the repro window sticker? and If you did, could you post a link to whoever makes them?
