newbie with 66 lesabre 400 and 62 445 Invicta

    Both cars r convertables... can I lower tops with no power... resto projects and elec needs worked but cleaning needs done in the "stow" and need pics with the tops down.
    What is the best cleaner to restore the rear window on the 62... completely opaque!!! Thanks ahead for all input...
    Maintenence tips?

    Yes, you can lower the tops without power. You have to remove the inner panels in the back seat area and disconnect the lift cylinders. Then the top is purely a hand-top. Once disconnected, the top may be a bit heavy to operate. Easiest way to lift them is to climb into the back seat, kneel against the seat back, and pull it up, then just climb out and guide it down.

    If the top motor is the issue, take it out and have it rebuilt. Most electrical shops should be able to do this for a nominal fee. Lift cylinders for both of those cars are available online, and shouldn't break the bank. Be careful when removing them though, they were originally filled with brake fluid which will destroy paint. (ask me how I know!)

    Neat cars, always loved the lines of a 62, as far as I'm concerned one of the prettiest Buicks built.

    Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

    If the motors work, check the fluid. Our '65 worked, but was very sluggish. I used Marvel Mystery oil.
